Woven on Trust, Worn with Pride
From a single loom in Kanchipuram to a showroom in Palakollu
Avani was founded in 1994 by textile merchant Lakshmi Chennupati, who began by carrying a handful of Kanchipuram silks from her family's weaving contacts to sell door-to-door in Palakollu. Three decades on, Avani works directly with over 40 weaving families across Kanchipuram and Varanasi, cutting out the layers of agents that usually sit between a weaver and a bride.
Today the showroom stocks over 1,200 sarees at any time, but the philosophy hasn't moved: every saree is checked by hand for zari purity, every price is fixed and fair, and every customer — whether she walks in or messages on WhatsApp — gets the same attention a bride would get in the fitting room.
Why Shop With Us
Certified Pure Zari
Every zari-bordered saree is silver-hallmark certified — no printed or synthetic "zari-look" fabric leaves our shelves.
Direct from Weavers
We buy directly from weaving families in Kanchipuram and Varanasi, so more of what you pay reaches the loom, not the middleman.
WhatsApp-First Service
Can't visit the showroom? Our stylists send live video walkthroughs of any saree before you commit — same as trying it on in person.
Fair Exchange Policy
3-day in-store exchange on every purchase, no questions on colour or drape — because a saree should feel right, not just look right in a photo.

“A saree is bought once, but worn for a lifetime of occasions.”
